Use these 3 tips to make your clients feel special
Hey Everyone! It’s Christine George, President of Marketing at RE/MAX Leading Edge with offices in Boston, Cambridge and all over Greater Boston. Welcome to Episode 3 of, Real Estate Marketing! Today, we are going to talk about to how to make your clients feel special. Each client has his/her own unique personalities and expectations and each one wants to be treated as an individual. Gone are the days of cookie-cutter marketing efforts. Today, it’s about getting personal and making your client feel like they’re the only one you’ve got. So how do you get personal and make your clients feel special? Here are 3 tips…
Engage on Social Media
There’s no better place in the world to get personal than through social media. Platforms like Facebook and Twitter allow you to create “friends” lists which then filter your “friends” or clients and allow you to see ONLY them. This great tool gives you the opportunity to see what your clients are up to and engage with them one-on-one by liking or commenting on their posts. You can even decide to pick up the phone or send a personal note or gift. Say your client has recently had a baby, what a great opportunity to send a personalized baby gift and say congratulations.
Acknowledge the Milestones of the Transaction
The process of buying or selling a home is highly personal. Why not make the process a little sweeter by recognizing the various milestones as they happen. For example, once your seller signs the contract, why not show up with a plant or flowers for their front porch. It will make them feel special and will make the porch look nice in time for the open house. Or at closing, you could create a “coffee table” style photo book of the home. What a great memoir for the client as they move to the next home or chapter in their lives.
Stay in Touch To Make Your Clients Feel Special
This where many of us fall down. Once the transaction has passed, we’re on to the next one and we tend to lose touch with our past clients making it easier for another agent to gain their attention. Staying touch ensures YOU stay top of mind and makes the client feel special. Create a reminder to reach out maybe once or twice/year. For example, at their one-year anniversary, send them a card with a personal note. Make sure to mention something unique about the transaction or the client, maybe compliment them about an improvement they’ve done.
There you have it. Three ways to make your clients feel special. People may not remember the details of the deal but they WILL remember how you made them feel that goes a long way toward building long lasting personal and business relationships.
