Hey Everyone! It’s Christine George, President of Marketing at RE/MAX Leading Edge with offices in Boston, Cambridge and all over Greater Boston. Welcome to Episode 11 of Real Estate Marketing!
We’ve been talking a lot about social media lately and many of our agents are jumping on the bandwagon, getting involved, taking chances and having fun doing it. So, today I want to talk about how to create content that drives engagement.
Think about content like a cocktail party or networking event. You’re there, meeting new people and building relationships through conversation. What kinds of things do you talk about, what are the things that make you laugh and as a REALTOR, what are the most common questions people ask you?
When creating content for social media, I want you to ask yourself, “what is going to educate, inform or entertain my followers?” After all, that’s really what people are looking for when they go on social media.
Let’s look at a few examples I think hit the mark when it comes to education, information and entertainment….
Dani Fleming and her team produce a great series of videos called, Coffee with MA Properties Online. These short videos educate the viewer on variety of real estate topics like, the top 10 questions to ask a listing agent, understanding the difference between mortgage programs, and why you should use a real estate attorney.
The next example comes from The Vita Realty Group. Phil and Amanda are doing a great job of cross-pollinating their social media platforms. In this first example, they personalize the RE/MAX Leading Edge Market Report and post it to their business page.
Asking questions will almost always ensure engagement from your followers. Each Wednesday, The Ternullo Team posts a collage of photos in their “Which One Wednesday” campaign and every week they draw tons of likes and comments.
Lastly, bringing a little fun and humor to your social media will automatically endure your followers to you. Susan Kadilak’s “Original Mancave” post was one of her top organic posts to date.
All of these are great examples of content that keeps you top of mind with your clients and nurtures those relationships. In every case, make sure you’re sharing on your personal pages, cross referencing social platforms and boosting to gain more traction.
I’d love to hear what you’re doing to drive social media engagement. Leave me a comment below.
